In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover proven techniques for structuring and expressing technical and complex information effectively.

You may be a specialist, or you may write on specialists’ behalf. You may be writing instructions, presenting scientific research, describing a process, or creating a technical report.

You'll bring your own material to work on throughout the day, applying your new skills to transform it, with guidance from your trainer.

    Who this training is for

This workshop is for anyone who wants to write and present complex information clearly. You may be a specialist, or you may write on specialists’ behalf.

This workshop is not about dumbing down. Einstein said, ‘If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.’ You know your stuff. Find out how to explain it with clarity.

    • Identify the three key features of complex information
    • Use a simple tool to gauge the complexity of your writing, and to reduce complexity
    • Understand how plain English applies to technical subjects
    • Learn specific techniques that will improve the clarity of any complex information

‘It may seem complicated to begin with, but at the end you can't help but think Why did I not think of that before?
    Cassie Rowe, ALGIM

I’ve enjoyed this course and feel more confident writing reports that are concise and relevant.’
