Wise and warm trainer and coach

Karen specialises in communications training and coaching. From 2000 until 2019, she was a language and learning adviser at Victoria University — Te Herenga Waka. She advised students and staff on language development as well as teaching and learning matters. During most of that time, she was also a consultant at Write.

Karen is at ease with clients from all levels of the public and private sectors. Whether she’s facilitating a bespoke workshop or working with individuals in a coaching session, the feedback is consistent — working with Karen delivers results.

Karen thrives on gnarly grammar and punctuation questions and loves to deliver training in these areas.

Empowering speakers of English as an additional language so they can thrive in New Zealand business

Karen especially enjoys working with executive-level migrants. She understands the challenges of moving between cultures and acquiring a language. She’s experienced these challenges herself while working in France, Britain, the Netherlands, Israel, and Australia.

During her time in the tertiary sector, Karen developed programmes to help students adapt to life and study in New Zealand. At Write, under her expert guidance, migrants learn to write and speak effectively in the New Zealand business environment.

Karen is a very good trainer, inclusive without picking on people, and makes everyone feel comfortable to answer in the group sessions.

Karen did a fantastic job instructing and turned what seemed like a challenging learning session, with grammar and all, into something enjoyable and impactful. I learned a lot and will definitely remember this experience.
