With a keen interest in science and technology, she is excited to dig into technical information, find solutions, and make it easy to understand.
She’s one of our expert plain language consultants and takes a supportive and thoughtful approach to helping clients. She brings a wealth of knowledge to everything she does, whether it’s a complex document edit, a considered peer review and proofread, or a technical content rewrite.
Erica’s background is in research science and science communication. She has a degree in biochemistry and a postgraduate certificate in science communication. The complementary aspects of plain language and science communication are a great motivation for her. Erica’s strengths aren’t limited to communicating science — she’s versatile, making the complex simple in any field.
Erica’s aspirations are reflected in Write’s mission and values. She strongly believes that plain language is all about empathy — empathy and consideration for the reader. She loves plain language because she wants to help bridge the gap between academic and complex writing and the wider public.
