Eleanor leads Write’s team of writers, inspiring them to provide excellent consultancy services for our clients. Her versatile team can be called on to research, plan, write, edit, review, assess, and test content for projects in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
Before joining Write, Eleanor worked at Stats NZ where she helped statisticians to communicate important facts and figures clearly.
Eleanor’s an expert plain language practitioner with a flair for shaping information so it works for the intended audience. She thinks from their point of view, considering what they’ll need to know, how they’ll find it, and what they’ll do with it.
Eleanor specialises in online content, collaborating with subject matter and design experts to craft wording that has the right style, tone, and effect. Whether adapting content or starting from scratch, she focuses on highlighting core messages and creating a seamless experience.
As a coach, Eleanor is empathetic and highly effective. She guides people towards a writing style that connects with their readers and helps them to achieve their goals.
She also creates resources to support writers, such as writing and tone guidelines, and document templates. And she’s expert at tailoring style guides, having honed her skills during the last two updates to The Write Style Guide.
